Before Birth
We meet with you in your home for a prenatal meeting to explore your desires, hopes and wishes as well as any doubts and fears you may have surrounding labor. We will show you many of the techniques we’ve learned over the years. We will go over the forms you will have filled out with questions that are designed to get to the deepest level very quickly so that we can support you most effectively. The decisions you make ahead of time will impact how your birth unfolds. We will help you understand what to expect and how to prepare for it. We support all birth desires and pain coping choices.

After Birth We will help you through postpartum procedures for you and your baby and with early breastfeeding. Over the next few days, we will keep in touch with you to see how you are doing. We will meet with you for a final postpartum meeting usually between one to two weeks after birth although some families want a meeting sooner. After our postpartum meeting, if you need more help, we can assist you in finding a postpartum doula to aid you for a more extended period of time.
During Labor We will join you when you feel the need for extra support and stay with you until after your baby is born. As you labor, we remain close by, supporting you physically, intellectually and emotionally, answering questions, offering encouragement and suggesting ways to manage your labor. We help you into your deepest, most instinctive place where you and your baby know how to give birth. We may use relaxation techniques, massage, body positions, hot/cold packs, baths/showers, breathing, visualization, attention focusing techniques, etc., to help you. We will support and reassure your partner, often supporting him in assisting you with comfort measures.
